Ingredients
Steps
Ingredients
30 g
butter
100 g
button mushrooms, finely chopped
1 tbsp
Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp
Tabasco sauce
1 tbsp
dried thyme
450 g
sausage meat
1 pinch
salt
1 pinch
freshly ground black pepper
450 g
ready-rolled puff pastry
1
free-range egg, beaten
Steps
1
Melt the butter in a large frying pan and sauté the mushrooms until tender. Transfer to a large bowl.
2
Add the Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, thyme and sausage meat. Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper, then mix until thoroughly combined.
3
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
4
Roll out the puff pastry into a large rectangle and cut it into two long rectangles.
5
Spread the sausage meat mixture along the centre of each pastry rectangle. Brush one edge of each with beaten egg.
6
Fold the other side of the pastry over the egg-brushed edge. Press to seal and trim any excess. Cut each roll into 8-10 small sausage rolls.
7
Place the sausage rolls seam-side down on a baking tray and brush the tops with beaten egg. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until crisp and golden and the sausage meat is cooked through.
